Apple is known to keep tight control on things, and the latest to realise how frustrating it can be are the iPhone App Developers. Apparently many developers are unhappy over the tight screening process for any App to make it through the AppStore.
Apple doesn’t allow any thing that even remotely resembles any of its own service. Among the many applications removed from the App store is ‘Podcaster’, a tool which allows the iPhone to automatically download podcasts. Its developer said in a Blog Post – “Although my app does allow you to listen to podcasts (like iTunes), it also allows you to download them directly to device and that is something Apple does not offer”.
Despite all the hardships faced by Apple developers the App Store still continues to grow at a rapid pace. And seeing how serious Apple is about the security offered by the 3rd party apps and its eye on annoying apps, it seems end users might not be too concerned with a few Apps being left out!
